Chemistry Building, Imperial College, London

Project Description

Adams Environmental have been fulfilling the Incumbent Asbestos Management Consultancy Role at Imperial College London for the past 20 years.  One of the buildings we spend a lot of time in is the Chemistry Building.  Chemistry Building as with most 1960’s builds has numerous asbestos items throughout.

In 2021 Adams Environmental successfully completed the Asbestos Management and Air Monitoring works associated with Phase 1 of the Level 4 Project.  The Level 4 project involved the conversion of old, redundant laboratory space into modern, flexible multi-purpose write-up and office areas.  Asbestos removal works included the removal of redundant fume cabinets with Asbestos Cement board and numerous AIB features such as fume extracts, door headers and firebreaks.  Works were complex and involved significant liaison between the Principal Contractor, Project Managers and Licensed Asbestos Contractor regarding services, isolations and programme of works.
